  3. Interested in lower control arm Rooducts to fit 05 Forester XT (SG). Want to put air on calipers. Hope they are available for stock lower control arms. Thank you, John Hollabaugh

    • Yes, I have them for steel arms but they aren’t nearly as easy to mount or remove.
You need to drill and tap a bunch of holes while on your back getting chips in your eyes.
Then juggling screws and washers while gravity is doing it’s best to goof it all up
but nobody said going fast was going to be easy.
      Same $125, paypal works.
      Thanks!

  4. Hello, I would like to order a set of Roo Ducts for an 02 WRX. I do not need the ones that go under the washer bottle. I am looking for the 4 inch inlet ones. What size OD is the outlet that points at the disk?

  9. Greetings – I was chatting with some friends at Six Star Motorsports and they suggested I reach out. I am looking to purchase some ducts for my 2019 S209 track build and this idea looked like it could be a great option to mitigate the need for more intrusive modifications.

    Thanks, Bradley

  10. I have an on going one off motorcycle project and its at a stage of needing to come up with an intake boots Left and Right.
I’m in the process and have come up with a foam model. Now looking to get it 3d scanned and digitized. 3D printing.
I found your site off a post on ADVRIDER forum.
They were talking about material filament TPU and a TPC i believe a product from Arnitel HT.
You were going to be doing some TPC tests on its fuel and heat resistance qualities.
Any info and is this something your pursuing?
    Thank you for time.

  11. Hey there

How is the fitment with wide tires. Have a 2003 GD WRX with 255 on a 35+ offset wheel. Just looking for the one that fits on the inner wheel well.

    Thanks!
    Chris

    • If you turn the wheels all the way and the tire hits the inner fender, will hit the duct 0.125″ sooner.
That’s the thickness of the mounting and the face of the duct when mounted.
The ABS is sort of flexible to a point and fairly tough so it takes a bit of effort to ruin it.
Doing donuts at full lock isn’t recommended 🙂

    • Hi Nick,
The aluminum control arm cars make it super easy to fit these.
Taking the duct on and off is easy if you have trailer ramps that may foul it or for winter drifts.

It’s mostly held on by a nylon bolt dropped through the existing hole in the arm into a threaded holder in the duct.

There’s a tab that the sway bar bolt goes through but it mostly aligns the duct more than holds it.
For that, you don’t need to remove the bolt or the link, just the nut.
I supply a couple thin washers and a metal spacer ring so you can tighten the nut without stressing the plastic duct tab.

    • Hi Jeremy,
What you can buy depends on what you need of course.

The traditional passive RooDucts help you get air from the fog light openings to the brakes.
Once fitted, they work well and need nothing.
For most people, these are the best cost to benefit choice.

The under car LCA Ducts work almost as well but can be damaged by snow/ice/mud/road debris.
They are less money and are as easy to take on and off the car as changing brake pads.
There is no drilling or cutting of the inner fender liners.

The powered Fan Ducts are the passive ducts with a brushless fan installed.
They do not need fog light removal, work well with FMIC piping or oil coolers that prevent hoses from going forward.
They are also the best solution for demanding tracks that need more cooling than the passive ducts can provide.
They are much more expensive and take more time to install.

I hope this information helps you.
      Thanks!
      rz

  15. Hi there! I’m ready to pull the trigger on a set of these for my 2005 WRX. Hope you have them in stock. Would you please guide me as to how to pay for them?

  16. Hi,
I have a 1998 RS with 2005 STI brakes and wheels/tires. Do you know if this can fit in the 1998 RS with the 225/45/17 tires without them rubbing?
    thanks

    • The ducts mount to the inner fender and stick out 1/8″. If your tire hits the inner fender now, it will hit the duct 1/8″ sooner. The ducts are somewhat flexible and can deform a little.

  17. What size silicone tubing have you found to be the best for these rooducts (both from duct to bumper and duct to brake.

  18. Hi,

  21. Looking for brake cooling duct options for 2002 Gd Sti. Track car
Price including shipping to Newcastle Australia

    • Thanks Ken. Overseas shipping is almost always $55. Passive ducts are good for tracks with moderate brake use and good momentum. The fans work best on really tough braking situations.

    • Bonjour Bertrand,

    • It’s really easy. I’ll respond by email to your request, then, we’ll discuss which duct is best and I get your shipping address. A bit of PayPal and USPS magic and you have them!

  28. hi there, do ship to the UK? i’m possibly interested in brake ducts for my ’03 impreza blob eye. do you have any pictures of the ducts in place, in a wheel arch? would i get any rubbing issues at full lock?

  29. Hey Mate

I have an 06 STI subaru ,I am looking for a set of rooducts to get from the front of the car to the front wheels.
Basically i am chasing the right angle ducts that sit in the wheel well.
I live in australia can you help me out

    Cheers Matt

  30. Hey Randy,

Got the ducts Wed and should have them coated Mon morning. Test fit and the few little mods needed went well and by far the easiest mod yet. Not many vendors include the needed drill bits, tap and fasteners, this alone saved a lot of time. Thanks for a great package.

    Thanks, B Reel

    • Let me know where to send them and I’ll get them in the mail.

All you do then is send a check.

      Pretty EZ?

      rz

  31. Thanks for the question.
    Yes, that’s the GD duct.
You can make a nice inlet and attach a hose or just stick the hose out to the fog opening for a down and dirty installation.
I’ve tried them with no hose at all and it still helped as long as air could get to the RooDuct so it could turn the air into the wheel.
I use Home Depot 3″ dryer ducting for the front.
Its light, smooth, easily available and cheap.
Your car may have harmonic dampening disks on the tie rods – round with two 10mm headed bolts attaching them.
Those have to be removed or they’ll hit the duct on a hard turn.
The brake dust shields need hole(s) made so the rotor can draw in the fresh air.
RooDucts come with mounting screws and a drill, tap and wrench to fit them.
