2015 – 2017 Subaru Impreza Brake Cooling Duct

2015 – 2017 Subaru Impreza Brake Cooling Duct

A RooDuct for the 2015 and newer cars is ready. The chassis/sub frame section of the duct is similar to the old GR but the inlets are different to work around the headers and washer bottle changes to the new cars. More trimming of the under body plastic is required also.

8/20 Update: I’m told all the newer cars up until now (2020) can use this duct EXCEPT turbo WRX with the new style engine. The turbo and plumbing are completely different and in the way. I easily identify the new engine as having the oil filter on top.

  1. Randy will theses fit a 2012 impreza sedan that has coilovers? I use my car for dual purpose(autocross/light track hpde) and daily driving. need to cool of my brakes. I see 165-200 temp just on a normal 20-30 min daily commute drive. even with good pads, and dot 4 fluid.

    • The ’15’s are a bit shorter and the angle is different on the inlet end.
The GR (’08-’14) ones will fit fine unless you’ve radically lowered the car.
(I have a fix for those too)
Pads and fluid will not cool the brakes, just allow a higher working temp.
200F means your brakes work and that’s a good thing.
Cooling them will at first, help brake wear when at your HPDE, then, help to keep the fluid from boiling and getting a soft pedal.
What a lot of people don’t appreciate, is the confidence gained from not being as worried that the brakes will be there.
The ducts aren’t magic (the fans are(!)) and there are situations where they don’t do enough but for most, they do a good job.
They’re affordable, easy to mount, need little or no maintenance, are out of the way of things and work pretty well.
      Thanks for the question.

  2. Randy – Interested in picking up a set of these for my ‘17 STI. What’s the price and how do I order?

Also, have a rough idea on shipping time?

    Thanks!

    Pete

  3. Hello, I’d be interested in possibly purchasing a set of these for my 2015 WRX; do you have a storefront/reseller to contact?

    Thanks in advance!

    Matt
